We have been the person holding the spreadsheet.
CompStack is built by engineers who have sat through real audits and by quality leaders who have run multi-site rollouts, with lead auditors reviewing the standards we model.
Compliance was the last spreadsheet stronghold.
Engineering had Git. Sales had Salesforce. Finance had Netsuite. Compliance had folders.
In 2024, our co-founder spent three months helping an East African beverage manufacturer prepare for a KEBS audit. The team was good, three audits passed in five years, but the program was held together by a person and a spreadsheet. Both could disappear in a week, and a year of audit-readiness with them.
We started CompStack because that pattern repeats everywhere. The teams are capable and the regulators keep raising the bar. What has not moved is the tooling, which is still a folder and somebody's memory.
So we built the thing that was missing. Standards become structured data, every record links to the evidence behind it, and the audit trail assembles itself out of the day's work.
Four principles that shape the product.
Compliance is engineering work
Audit-grade quality is achievable with software discipline, version control, structured data, observable workflows. We build like a platform team, not a consultancy.
Trust is the product
Tenant isolation, segregation of duties and immutable trails are the floor we build on. Anything we ship sits inside our customers' audit scope.
Human approvals beat automation
AI drafts and accelerates. Every change it proposes passes through a person who can be named in the audit log.
Africa-first, global next
We launched against multi-site, multi-scheme, regulator-heavy programmes in East and West Africa. Those constraints shaped what got built first.
We're hiring builders who care about audit-grade work.
Roles open as we grow. Engineers, ex-IMS managers, and lead auditors all welcome.
